How the AnyArt museum guide works

Why it's worth it

Opened in 2015 by collectors Eli and Edythe Broad, it holds some 2,000 contemporary works: Warhol, Lichtenstein, Basquiat, Koons, Ruscha, Kusama and today's artists. Diller Scofidio + Renfro's building, with its white honeycomb skin ("the veil") and visible central storage ("the vault"), is an attraction in itself on Grand Avenue.

How to plan your visit

  • Reserve a free timed general-admission ticket on the official site; weekend slots go first.
  • Separately reserve Kusama's Infinity Mirror Room, with limited spots and only seconds inside.
  • Ride the escalator to the third floor, where the main collection is, and walk down the inner stairs past the vault.
  • The collection rotates: some famous works may not be on view during your visit.
  • With the AnyArt camera you can identify any work and hear its story.
